My Everyday Make Up Routine

Image
For those of you who don't know, I work in a Boots store, so I do a full face of make up for work everyday. This is partly because I have Rosacea so I want to cover up the redness in my skin, and also because I have blonde eyelashes and blonde eyebrows but (dyed) dark hair, so I look like I'm dying if I don't have make up on. I have a different make up routine for nights out or events, so I will write another blog post later to cover that. This routine takes me around 20 minutes most days and I do try new make up products and mix it up most days, but I've included some of my favourite make up products for everyday use. Small disclaimer, everyone does their make up in different ways so if you like to apply it in a different order to me, that's fine too! Step 1:  - After cleansing, toning and moisturising my skin, I apply a primer. Recommended: P.S Primer Water - £2.00, L'Oreal Infallible Pore Refining Primer - £8.99, Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer -

Pale Princess Mystery Beauty Boxes!

Image
This is a new concept I'm trying which is great if you are interested in trying new products chosen by someone else. It is similar to the ideas of swap beauty boxes, subscription beauty boxes or mystery beauty boxes you can buy on eBay. How It Works:  - You choose from the list below what type of mystery beauty box you would like. Each box will contain a minimum quantity of items worth the full value of the box, specifically chosen based on reviews, suitability and my own experience with the product. All products will be from known brands and will be purchased from Boots, Superdrug or The Body Shop. Each box will be completely unique and brands / products will differ between each box. You contact me (via Facebook Messenger) to order your chosen box, the products will be chosen and purchased and payment will be required before dispatch. Proof of postage will be provided. The Best Red Lipsticks

Image
I love a good red lip paired with a simple eye look, which has compulsory winged eyeliner! But I struggled to find the perfect red shades and the perfect formula - I'm not a fan of pink anything (goth at heart!) so I wanted a blue / purple based red that doesn't lean pink at all, and I wanted a red lipstick that didn't transfer onto my teeth and lasted all night. It was a struggle, but I have found a few formulas and shades that I love along the way, so I thought I'd share them all with you. (The above swatches are in the order listed below, starting with Maybelline Matte Ink and ending in Sleek Matte Lip Cream)  Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick - 20 Visionary - £9.99 If you haven't already tried these.. you need them in your life. I currently have 5 shades of this liquid lipstick because I LOVE the formula. These have lasting power that beats any other liquid lipstick I've tried. I actually bought the red shade first (20 Visionary)

Everything You Need For A Good Pamper Session

Image
Who doesn't love a good pamper? I think it's very important for relieving stress and treating your body, face and hair as it deserves! Here are some of my favourite pamper products.. Face Masks: L'Oreal Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask 50ml - £7.99 I've tried 4 of the face masks in this range and they are all amazing quality! A little goes a long way, they don't dry out your skin, they leave it feeling soft, smooth and refreshed and I think this one in particular is great for acne prone skin. The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Balancing Clay Mask - £11.00 If you've got oily or combination skin, you need this mask in your life. It doesn't have the best smell - it smells slightly like seaweed and clay (as you'd expect) but it is great for controlling oils and not leaving your skin feeling dried out. Queen Helene Mint Julep Face Mask 340g - £4.30 I've spoken about this mask in a previous blog post - it does feel a little bit like you are smearing t

New Make Up Products I've Tried (Drugstore & High End)

Image
Last week, I uploaded a blog post on the new skincare products I'd tried so this week, I thought I'd let you know what make up products I've recently tried and my thoughts on them. Spoiler alert - overall, I'm really happy with most of the new make up products I've tried! Smashbox Photo Finish Primeriser - £30.00 I absolutely love the Smashbox Primer Water so when I heard that this primer had been released, I knew I had to try it. It cuts out a step in your morning skincare routine, by being a primer and moisturiser in one. The formula of this is lovely. It has a thin consistency and it does feel like it is hydrating to the skin as well as prepping it for make up. It sinks into the skin quickly and you don't need to use a lot to cover your face. I feel that it blurs my pores slightly and left a nice smooth base to apply foundation on top of, whilst leaving your skin feeling refreshed. The glass bottle comes with a pump so it is easy to get a controlled

One Brand Review - KIKO Cosmetics

Image
For those of you who haven't heard of KIKO Milano Cosmetics, they are an Italian brand that are priced in between high end and drugstore. They have quite a few shops in the UK now but you are able to purchase products online in the UK if you don't have a shop near you. KIKO have a wide range of products, some more affordable and some at a more high end price point. For example, their Flawless Fusion Bronzer Powder is £10.90, but their Gold Waves Bronzer in their summer collection is £22.90. They often have sales both in the stores and online so it's definitely worth waiting until a sale to pick stuff up. Having tried this products for a while now, I decided to let you all know my thoughts on the items I've tried. Gold Waves Blush - 03 Damask Mauve - £16.90 - This blusher is one of the most beautiful blushers I've seen in the pan, but it swatches and wears just as beautifully. I love a mauvey toned blusher on pale skin and this is no exception. It is slightl

A Review of ALL My Foundations (27 Foundations!)

Image
I recently reorganised my foundation drawer as it was starting to overflow.. that's when I realised I have quite a few foundations! Having tried so many foundations now, I thought I would give a quick review / rating of each foundation that I own. I have ordered this list in descending order of their ratings out of 10. For reference, I have very pale, oily / combination skin that has a lot of redness (rosacea) and is acne prone so I like full coverage, long lasting foundations that are pale enough for my skin. I think because I have tried so many foundations, I have very high standards and am very fussy with foundations. Out of these foundations, I have to mix the majority of them with white mixer in order to match my skin-tone. *Disclaimer - These opinions are based on my personal experience, if you like any of the foundations I hate, that's fab! Please don't take it personally if you like any that I don't, or hate any that I love! This blog post is by no means tr
