New Skincare Products I've Tried (Combination, Acne Prone Skin)

Image
As someone who has suffered from moderate acne in the past and moderate rosacea / redness since I was a teenager, I am always on the hunt for new skincare products. Currently, I have combination / oily skin which is blemish prone and has a lot of redness around my t-zone and chin. I have learnt over the years that my skin really likes salicylic acid and tea tree oil and most products that don't contain either of these don't do much for my skin. I am 23 years old, so I don't have any fine lines or wrinkles yet, so I can't comment on any issues relating to those. These are some skincare products that I have recently picked up and I thought I would let you know my thoughts on them. Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Proofing Purifying Toner 200ml - £4.99 Over the years, I've found that my favourite toners by far are The Body Shop Seaweed toner and the Tea Tree Oil toner, however, I thought I would try a new one as I've been using those for years. I still love t...

Pale People Problems

Image
I am a firm believer that everyone is beautiful in their own way, regardless of skin tone, hair colour, eye colour, etc. and I have fully embraced how pale I am now. I've learnt over the years that fake tan does not work on me and always looks orange, streaky or patchy and I am quite happy being a vampire now.. But, being as pasty white as me still has it's problems! Here are some of the issues us pale princesses have to face everyday! 1. Being nicknamed Casper the Ghost So because I'm 6ft1 and super pale, I have lots of nicknames - ranging from 'giraffe', 'casper', 'high tower', 'legs' etc. And there have been times that I have stood next to a friend who has just self-tanned and it legit looks like Casper and her tropical island friend. 2. Finding make up to suit your skin tone This is a problem for all pale people, which is what my entire blog is based upon! Finding blushers that don't make you look like a clown, bronzers ...

Testing eBay Make Up Products

Image
I know some people are very against purchasing make up products on eBay as there are a lot of fake products and you don't always know what ingredients are in the products. For this reason, I didn't purchase products such as mascara, eyeliner, foundation or concealer and I didn't purchase any replicas or fake products. I love a bargain so I thought I would give some of these super affordable products a try and let you all know my thoughts! All of these products are under £5 and they are all currently available on eBay. Technic Eyebrow Gel - Black - £1.89 For those of you who don't know, I am naturally blonde but I dye my hair black / purple or black / blue so I need to colour my eyebrows in everyday! I love using coloured brow gels because they are so quick and easy to use and I think they look very natural for everyday use. I've tried a lot of brow gels and I have to say, this is one of my favourites. The brow gel is pigmented and easy to apply - the brush ...

Why Two Dalmatians Are Better Than One

Image
On the many ‘Dalmatian Owner’ groups I am part of on Facebook, I often see people asking if it’s a good idea to get a second dalmatian, or if two is easier than one. Obviously, two Dalmatians means double the cost for food, insurance, toys, treats, beds etc, but to me, it is 1000% worth it. My younger dalmatian is 3 years old now and I got her as a 7 week old puppy. When Mia was around 6 months old, she was so desperate for a playmate, that we decided to rescue Ruby, who is now 9 years old. From day one, they adored each other (please note, this does not always happen and sometimes it can be difficult to introduce a second dog into the family). So this is what you can expect if you decide to take the plunge and get a second dalmatian. 1) They can play together So when we rescued Ruby, we were actually told that she was 2 years old, so we thought she would be the perfect match for Mia (6 months old at the time). We later found out she was actually 6 years old, but she still...

The Best Of The Best For Pale Skin

Image
I keep seeing people asking for the 'best concealers for pale skin' or 'best bronzers for pale skin' etc etc, so I thought I would summarise for each 'face make up' category, what my favourite products are for pale skinned beauties. I tried to keep it at 2 products for each category but there are too many amazing products to narrow them all down to 2! These include both high-end and more affordable options. White Mixers: Manic Panic Dreamtone Flawless Foundation - White - £9.99 This is a white foundation which doesn't take away any coverage of your foundation and also doesn't change the finish- it simply lightens the foundation. The bottle comes with a pump and 30ml of product. You can find this on eBay or Amazon and some gothic clothing stores.  NYX Professional Make Up Pro Foundation Mixers - White - £8.00 This mixer has a slightly thicker consistency than the Manic Panic Dreamtone, which means you don't have to use as much product....
