Most Repurchased Skincare Products

I recently uploaded a blog post on my most repurchased make up products and I said I would be posting another one on my most repurchased skincare products. To me, these blog posts are really helpful because it shows what is worth your money and your favourite products - if you keep repurchasing them, they are probably worth trying for other people! Just for reference, my skin is combination / oily - it is normal on my cheeks and forehead but I do get oily in my t-zone and chin throughout the day. I had moderate acne throughout my teenage years and I was put on Roaccutane when I was 16 which cleared up my skin enormously. It is still acne prone so I do get the odd breakouts and I also have Rosacea (redness) and acne scarring.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Face Mask - £11.00
- I mentioned this in my favourite face masks blog post a while back and it is still one of my favourite and most repurchased face masks! The mask has a strong tea tree, peppermint and lemon kind of scent and it’s a thick formula that applies really easily. It feels cooling on the skin and dries down in about 10 minutes but it doesn’t feel overly tight or drying on the skin. It’s easy to remove afterwards and leaves your skin feeling smooth and refreshed but not dry. I really do feel like this helps my acne / blemishes and if you wait until The Body Shop has an offer on for 40% off, you can get this face mask for just £6.60! I use a face mask at least a couple of times a week and this is one I always reach for if my skin is breaking out.

Garnier Pure Active Micellar Water for Oily Skin - £4.99
- So when Micellar water first came out, everyone was raving about how amazing it is, then since then, people started saying it was bad for your skin. I’m of the opinion that I’ve used this every single day since it came out and I love it - it’s caused me no problems with my skin. I have tried a number of micellar waters and this is by far my favourite and most repurchased. You get 400ml of product in the bottle so even using it everyday, it lasts me forever! Every evening, I take off my make up with a make up wipe, then go in with this micellar water on a cotton wool pad to get rid of any excess make up left on my skin - if you don’t do this, I would recommend trying it because you’ll be shocked by how much the make up wipe misses! Then first thing in the morning, I go in with micellar water on a cotton wool pad again before doing the rest of my skincare routine. This water does not dry out my skin, it leaves it feeling clean and refreshed and it really does get rid of all the dirt and make up! It doesn’t really have a scent and it’s also suitable for eye make up as it doesn’t sting my eyes at all.

The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Balancing Toner - £8.00
- this, along with the Body Shop Tea Tree Toner, is my all time favourite toner. I apply this toner after I have used micellar water to get rid of any leftover make up and before moisturiser or overnight eis r, so I use this twice a day. It feels cooling and refreshing on my skin and sinks in quickly. I feel like it absorbs any oil on my skin (combination skin) and slows down the production of oils throughout the day. It does leave my skin feeling super matte, but without overly drying it out. It does have a slight seaweed scent but it doesn’t bother me and it doesn’t linger after it’s sunk into my skin. I don’t think it does much for reducing redness or blemishes but it definitely does help with oil balancing, as it claims to do! This is a must have part of my skincare routine and I will continue to purchase this and the tea tree toner. If you wait until The Body Shop have 40% off sales you can get this for a super affordable price too.

Superdrug Deep Action Anti-Blemish Overnight Serum - £2.79
- I’m constantly trying new skincare products, especially affordable products to see what works and doesn't work for my skin. I've always found that my skin loves Salicylic Acid so when I saw this product for only £2.79 and it contained Salicylic Acid, I had to try it. My skin seemed to respond really well to this product. You just need one pump to cover your whole face (it is a plastic bottle with a pump) and it sinks in quickly. It doesn't really have a scent but if anything, it just smells like a moisturiser. It's actually got the consistency of a cream / moisturiser so I'm not sure why they call it is a serum. I've found that this doesn't make me an oily mess when I wake up and it definitely improves the look of blemishes / breakouts. Superdrug seem to be sold out of this product constantly, so when I see that it's in stock, I make sure I buy at least 2 bottles! It's quite often on offer for 2 for £4, so that makes it even more affordable. This is definitely one of my favourite night treatments.

Avon Clearskin Clear Emergency Instant Spot Treatment - £4.50
- This is one of my holy grail spot treatments because it works so well. After a couple of applications on a blemish, pretty much all the redness / soreness disappears and it dries it out. You don't need to use a lot of product and it comes in a squeeze tube so it's easy to get a little bit out. It sinks in quickly, but if you use too much, it does leave a thin film over the blemish, which doesn't bother me if I'm having a 'no make up' day or applying it overnight, but if I am applying foundation over the top, I have found that the foundation flakes off over the top of this. It can sting a bit, especially if the blemish is new / sore to start with, but the stinging doesn't last long and I don't mind it because it makes me feel like it's working. This also contains Salicylic acid - a common theme in this blog post!

Clean & Clear Dual Action Oil-Free Moisturiser - £3.39
- This is a great, affordable moisturiser if you have blemish prone and oily skin. It is a common misconception that if you have oily skin, you don't need to moisturise it or that moisturiser will make the oils worse, but moisturising can actually reduce the amount of oil your skin produces and it is still a must have in your skincare routine. This has a relatively thin consistency compared to other moisturisers I've tried and you don't need to use much product to cover your face. It sinks in quickly and doesn't really have a scent. I don't find that this breaks my skin out and I do think it helps my breakouts slightly. This is such an affordable moisturiser that it's definitely worth repurchasing each time I run out of it. I do use other moisturisers and rotate which ones I use each day, so this gets used at least a few times in a week and the tube lasts me a long time. It is also quite often on offer in Boots for 1/3 off, making it even more affordable!

No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Face Wipes - £7.50
- This is a product I recently spoke about in my best products from Boots blog post. I know a lot of people are of the opinion that make up removing wipes are bad for your skin, but I've used them for years and have never had an issue with them. They do not take off all of my make up, but they take off the majority of it and then I go in with a cotton wool pad with micellar water to take off the rest. These particular wipes are bigger than other face wipes I've tried and they are much thicker. The packet comes with a plastic lid which seals the pack, keeping the wipes damp. They are good at removing most of my make up and all of them in the pack tend to stay damp, unlike other face wipes I've tried. I definitely would not buy these wipes for £7, however, as with the make up, No7 do £5 off skincare vouchers every few months, making these wipes £2.50. I always keep a stock pile of these so I know I will never run out!

Dermalogica Clear Start Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash - £15.75
- The Dermalogica Clear Start range was one of the only products on the market that worked for my skin when I had moderate acne. This was how I realised that my skin loved Salicylic Acid and I tried most of their products in a mini starter kit. Once I had used them, I repurchased the large versions and have been repurchasing them ever since. One of my favourite products from this line is the foaming face wash. It removes any make up / dirt left on my face after using a make up wipe and it leaves my skin feeling matte, clean and fresh. I definitely feel like this helped my acne and stops me getting any breakouts now. It is a thick gel formula and you don't need to use much, so the bottle lasts a long time. It doesn't foam up a huge amount but it's easy to wash off afterwards and it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. This is a great product / range if you have been struggling with breakouts and nothing else seems to be working - it is 100% worth the price if you ask me! You can find Dermalogica on the John Lewis website.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Face Scrub - £4.99
This is one of my favourite skincare products. This has a thick formula, which is grey in colour and contains exfoliating beads and you don't need to use a lot to cover your face. It's pretty gentle on your skin considering it's a scrub and leaves my skin feeling super soft and smooth afterwards. I use this a couple of times a week as part of my skincare routine and I do feel like it helps my skin - specifically with the texture. The tea tree scent of this is not overpowering but it does have a scent. My only criticism of this product, although I have found the same with most face scrubs, is that the beads are quite hard to get off your skin afterwards, it takes quite a lot of rinsing to clean your face off. To me, it's still a great product and I will continue to repurchase this! You get 150ml of product in the tube.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Moisturiser - £5.25
- This moisturiser quickly became a favourite of mine - it smells beautiful, feels refreshing to apply and leaves your skin feeling moisturised all day without it feeling sticky, tacky or oily. I haven't found that it causes breakouts at all and I have no sensitivity to the product (I've tried other pink grapefruit scented products that have caused more redness on my skin). It sinks into the skin quickly and you don't need to use a lot to cover your face. This moisturiser is also oil free, which is great if you have oily / combination skin like myself. You get 50ml of product in the squeeze tube and I've found the tube lasts quite a long time. This is a product I will continue to repurchase and if you like grapefruit scents, you will love this too!
