Make Up Obsession Custom Palette
Having already made a custom palette with Make Up Geek shadows in a Z Palette, I’ve been putting off buying a Make Up Obsession palette for a while now, but I wish I had made one sooner! Make Up Obsession is a sister company to Make Up Revolution and Freedom Make Up as it is part of the Tam Beauty umbrella. The products are sold in larger Boots stores, online at Boots.com and on Tam Beauty’s website. Although the general idea is the same as Make Up Geek, however Make Up Obsession sell eyeshadows, eyebrow powder, lip gloss, highlighter, blushers and bronzers which are all the same size so can be used in the same palette.
The palettes come in medium (6 pans) and large (12 pans). These palettes come in various colours and prices dependant on colour (e.g. the rose gold and gold versions are more expensive than black and white). The pans are all removable after they have been put in, you can just click them out and move them into another palette or rearrange the order. All of the pans have the shade name written on the back of the pan so you know which shades you already have or if you run out of one pan, you can easily repurchase it.
I purchased the large white palette from Boots.com (£5.00), 9 eyeshadows, 1 contour shade, 1 blush and 1 highlighter. The total cost of the palette filled was £32 which is a lot less than my Make Up Geek palette which cost around £200! I can’t comment on the quality of the lip products, cream products or eyebrow products because I haven’t tried them yet but the quality seems to be pretty consistent across the products I have tried.
To be honest, I didn’t have high hopes for this palette as I hadn’t heard a lot about them and the shade range is no where near as varied as Make Up Geek for example, but I was very wrong! The palette has a large mirror and is very sturdy, all the pans click nicely into place and they do not fall out or move. The actual pans are amazing quality. The matte eyeshadows are pigmented, blend nicely and don't kick up much powder or have much fall out. The metallic shades are also very pigmented and creamy - I have found that the metallic shades work best with a spray of Mac Fix+ on a flat eyeshadow brush. I’m also a fan of the highlighter, blush and contour shade - the contour shade I bought is a great colour for pale girls wanting a cool toned contour shade and the highlighter also looks lovely on pale skin. Make Up Obsession stock both cream and powder products for the highlighters (called Strobe Creams) and the contour / bronzer shades.

I would highly recommend checking these products out in store and swatching them, they’re such good quality for such a low price in comparison to other similar products on the market. The fact that it’s customisable means you get exactly the shades you want in the palette and you can mix and match the products to create a perfect palette for travelling - saving you packing extra products. I will definitely be getting another palette to try more shades and I hope they bring out more shades in the future!
