My Everyday Skincare Routine

Image
My skin is combination - it's normal on my cheeks and I get oily on my t-zone throughout the day. I get the odd blemish and have some left over scarring on my cheeks from relatively bad acne when I was younger. I struggled with acne for around 6 years and tried a hell of a lot of products, as well as prescribed medications to clear my skin up. Now, I am not on any medication for my acne but the products I use and my daily routine keep it under control. I do vary some of the products I use on a daily basis, but these are my top products that I will continue to repurchase and are tried and tested. I use the same routine daily.  Morning Routine:  - The first thing I do to my skin in the morning is take my Garnier Pure Active Micellar Cleansing Water (£4.99) and use this on a cotton wool pad to remove any oils or dirt on my face from the night. I've tried a load of micellar waters and the Garnier Pure Active is definitely my favourite.  - Then I take my Body Shop ...

Best Pressed Powders for Pale Skin

Image
So you might have found a foundation to match your paper white skin, but now, you need to find a powder that not only sets your foundation, but actually matches your skin tone and that can be just as difficult. In the same way many brands have 'ivory' or 'porcelain' foundations which resemble a bad spray tan, many powders can be far too dark or even worse - orange. So here are some of my favourite face powders for pale princesses. 1. Collection Pressed Powder - Ivory 18 - £1.99      - This face powder is my absolute favourite for many reasons. I've got through at least 10 of these in the past few years and always have at least 3 as back ups! If Collection ever discontinue this powder, I will be heartbroken. You get 15g of product in the pan (which is a lot more than most other powders!) and it has a clear plastic lid which twists onto the base. The shade Ivory is the perfect shade for my porcelain skin - it is actually a neutral ivory. The packaging is sturdy eno...

Absolute Favourite Face Masks

Image
Now I don't know about you, but I love a good face mask. I tend to pop on a face mask every other night before getting in the bath and I leave it on for around an hour. My preference is clay type masks and exfoliating face masks, partly due to ease of applying them (I use a flat foundation brush to apply my face masks) and party due to my skin type. I have combination / oily skin which is never dry and I use moisturiser every day, so I don't tend to need a hydrating face mask. My skin is acne prone so I'm always on the hunt for a face mask that will fight any acne that appears. These are some of my favourite face masks for my skin type. All of these reviews are based on my personal opinion and experiences of each of these products, everyone's skin is different and therefore what works for me might not work for you. 1. The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Skin Clearing Mask, RRP: £11.00      - The Body Shop is one of my all time favourite shops because their products are such...

Best & Worst Pale Foundations (Combination / Oily Acne Prone Skin)

Image
Finding a pale foundation which is actually pale enough for porcelain skin is not an easy task! So many of these brands call their shades 'porcelain' or 'ivory' when actually they are a dark shade of tangerine when applied to your face. Here are some of the best and worst foundations that I've tried for pale skin which is combination (oily in the T-Zone) and acne prone. The reviews below are all based on my personal opinion and my own experiences. Everyone's skin is different and we all prefer different types of foundation so what works for me might not work for you and what doesn't work for me, might work for you. But I hope you find the swatches and reviews below helpful! 1. Revlon Colorstay for Combination / Oily Skin (Shade 110 Ivory) RRP: £12.99        - This is one of my favourite drugstore foundations. It dries almost matte but once set with any powder, it stays put all day long! There's no transfer from the foundation at all and this...
